U21 Euro: TV channel, kick-off times and live streaming in the UK

The Under-21 European Championship is played every two years in June, and it is the tournament you watch for what is coming next. Most of the players on show are one or two years away from a first senior cap: a single tournament is often enough to move a name from the prospects column to the transfer pages. Sixteen teams qualify, play a group stage and then a knockout round, in a host country chosen several years in advance. The format has a consequence the senior tournaments do not: a generation gets only one or two chances to take part before ageing out, which gives the matches an urgency of their own. Spain and Italy share the record. Some editions also hand out places for the Olympic tournament, which adds a stake the table alone does not show. Matches are played in the late afternoon and evening, central European time.
