Privacy policy
Scope
This policy covers the footaz.co.uk website and the Footaz Android application, published on Google Play under the identifier net.footaz.app, which displays the same site. There is one service, one server and one set of data.
The publisher is MKH - Marketing KUHM-HOLLNER, represented by Cyril KUHM. Contact: contact@footaz.net.
Links to broadcasters
When you click a button leading to a broadcaster, we record three things: the day, the country and the channel. Nothing else.
No visitor identifier is attached to it: this counter does not know who clicked, only how many times it was clicked. It stores nothing on your device and therefore does not appear in the consent banner.
Some of these links are affiliate links. The broadcaster applies its own tracking once you are on its site: its policy applies there, not ours.
Your age
Before anything else, we ask whether you are at least 18. The site shows advertising for sports betting, which is for adults only.
Your answer is kept in a cookie named fz-age, on your device. It holds a single character: 1 or 0. No date of birth, nothing else.
If you answer that you are under 18, we load no advertising at all, no consent banner and no audience measurement. The site works exactly the same, without a single ad.
This cookie is strictly necessary to meet a legal obligation, so it does not appear in the consent banner. You can change your answer at any time in the settings dialog, from the footer of any page.
What we do not do
We never ask for your name, and there is no password to remember. An account is optional: the whole site works without one.
We do not sell or share your data with data brokers, and we run no advertising profiling.
Your account
You can create an account so that your favourites follow you from one device to another. It is optional, and the site works exactly the same without it.
We only ask for an email address. No name, no password: you receive a four-digit code, valid for ten minutes and once only.
That address is used to sign you in, and for nothing else unless you explicitly ask for it. Match alerts, the weekly summary and offers each have their own tick box, none of them pre-ticked, and each can be withdrawn on its own.
We keep the date of each consent, of each confirmation and of each withdrawal. Not to watch you, but because the law asks us to be able to prove it.
We never place a tracking pixel in our emails. We therefore do not know whether you opened them, and we do not want to know.
An account left untouched for 24 months is deleted, after a warning email. You can also delete it yourself, at any time, from your account page.
Favourites
When you tap the star on a team, a competition, a player or a channel, we store that choice against a random identifier held in a cookie named fz-vis, valid for one year.
That identifier is not linked to your name or your email address, because we never ask for them. It exists so that your favourites follow you from one visit to the next.
That cookie is protected: only our server can read it, never a script on the page. A second cookie named fz-cle goes with it; it holds nothing but the digit 1, and only lets the page know that an identifier exists, never what it is.
Clearing the cookie, or using the "clear all" button on the favourites page, removes the link. The rows are deleted from our database.
Notifications
If you allow notifications, your browser creates a subscription and gives us three things: an address belonging to your browser vendor notification service, and two keys used to encrypt the message so that only your device can read it.
We store them with the same fz-vis identifier, your language and your country, so that we can notify you about the matches you follow rather than about every match.
We never see the content of a delivered notification once it leaves us, and the notification service never sees its content either: it is encrypted end to end.
Turning notifications off in your browser or in Android settings removes the subscription. We also delete it ourselves as soon as the notification service tells us it is gone.
Country, language and time zone
Your approximate country is derived from your connection by our host, in order to show the channels that broadcast in your country. It is not stored against your identifier.
Your language and time zone choices are kept in your browser, not on our servers.
Audience measurement
We count page views in aggregate, without a third-party advertising cookie and without cross-site tracking.
Hosting and transfers
The site is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, United States. Data may therefore be processed outside the European Union, under the safeguards Cloudflare publishes.
Notification services (Google, Mozilla, Apple depending on your browser) receive an encrypted message and the address of your subscription. They cannot read the content.
Retention
Favourites and notification subscriptions are kept as long as they are used, and deleted when you remove them or when the notification service reports the subscription as gone.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data. Since we hold no account, the fastest route is usually to clear the cookie and turn off notifications, which removes everything.
For anything else, write to contact@footaz.net. You may also lodge a complaint with the CNIL (www.cnil.fr).
